    SEATS ARE STILL AVAILABLE!

Be there for our next workshop in our FBA 'Educating the Family' Workshop Series!

Session 2: 'The Importance of Clearly Defined Roles and Boundaries to Avoid Conflict' -
In addition to the roles that you play in the family (parent, child, sibling), family members associated with a family business may play a variety of different roles in the business (employee, director, advisor). Each role is unique and has specific boundaries. How do you wade through the grey areas when there is conflict? Facilitated by David Wimer who has 35 years of experience as a business owner, key executive and professional advisor with a broad range of experience with family businesses.

    DATE: Wednesday, March 25, 2015
    TIME: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
PLACE: The Chamber's Center for Business Excellence, Wyomissing
    COST: $20/person

SAVE THE DATE FOR SESSION 3: 'The Undiscussables: Dealing with the Elephants in the Family Business'
'Un-discussable' topics are the subjects that a family is unable or unwilling to talk about in an open, honest and candid manner. Topics that were once off limits can become the rally point for healthier relationships, leading to more success in the family enterprise. Also facilitated by David Wimer.

    DATE: Wednesday, June 10, 2015
    TIME: 8:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m.
PLACE: The Chamber's Center for Business Excellence, Wyomissing
    COST: $20/person

SPRING IS JUST AROUND THE CORNER...AND SO IS OUR BERKS FBA SPRING SYMPOSIUM!

    DATE: Tuesday, April 7, 2015
    TIME: 7:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.
    PLACE: The Crowne Plaza

Join us for an enlightening and educational morning, learning, listening and engaging with your peers in family businesses - sharing the commonalities that you face every day. The morning will include breakfast and a presentation by our Keynote Speakers, Ross Kramer, co-founder and CEO of Listrak along with his father, Howard Kramer, co-founder and COO. Their dynamic story began in 1996, in Ross's dorm room at Penn State University when he launched Vertex Internet, a web hosting company. What began with local businesses quickly grew as companies like Movies Unlimited trusted Ross to not only host their websites, but to add e-commerce features as well.

In 1999, Ross and his father, Howard, founded Listrak, a new venture offering email marketing capabilities. Ross and Howard believed that email marketing would work better if clients delivered the content subscribers cared about, and in turn, built solutions based on that philosophy.

The Kramer's have a wonderful story about working together as a father/son team and will share many insights and lessons learned in this unique partnership.

    GET IN THE CONVERSATION...

With facilitated Peer to Peer Exchange Groups! Family business owners face extraordinary challenges unique to running a family business. This is a great way to gather with your peers, share common problems and experiences, and to learn how to deal with your unique situations. Are you looking for a forum to discuss issues you are facing in your family business? Are you looking for peer advice? What about knowing others who understand your unique situations?

We allow only one participant per group from each industry segment in order to avoid competitive concerns. The groups are facilitated by Pat Langiotti, Owner of Creative Management Concepts and Chet Mosteller, President of Mosteller & Associates. Pat and Chet are industry experts with many years of experience assisting family-owned businesses.

To promote camaraderie and trust, enrollment is for a designated individual (not meant for a company to send different people at different times). Enrollment in a Facilitated Peer Exchange Group is limited to Chamber members. Peer Groups are meeting a minimum of 8-10 times per year and the annual participation fee is $400.

To hear testimonials from Peer Group participants, please click here. Sign up by contacting Danielle Antos, Program Coordinator at 610.898.7780.
