    Job Description
    The Greater Reading Chamber & Economic Development Corporation (GRCEDC), was formed as a result of a strategic alignment of three existing business organizations serving Berks County, PA – Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce & Industry; Greater Reading Economic Partnership; Greater Berks Development Fund.   This unique and innovative partnership, which includes a 1,200-member Chamber of Commerce and Berks County’s two leading economic development organizations, represents a comprehensive approach to support the business community.   The primary mission of the GRCEDC is to encourage business attraction, business expansion, job creation and business investment, in an effort to foster and promote a thriving economy throughout Berks County.    By aligning the three organizations, the GRECEC can provide a more comprehensive set of supports and services, and act as the single point of contact for companies looking to locate or expand in Berks County.   In addition, through effective and ongoing advocacy efforts, the GRCEDC represents a powerful voice in promoting policies that foster a more business friendly environment throughout the region.  The GRCEDC offices are located in the City of Reading, PA.   www.greaterreading.org  The GRCEDC is currently looking to staff the following position:
    Small Business Development & Latino Outreach Coordinator:
    Serve as the lead staff person assisting with small business support and development activities, with a specific emphasis on the Latino business community.  Assist new entrepreneurs and start-ups by connecting them to existing programs and services including SCORE and the SBDC.   Provide outreach to the Latino business community and represent the GRCEDC at relevant Latino community events and on appropriate boards.   Help promote the minority business loan program and other small business loan programs, and conduct initial assessments of applicants’ qualifications.   Work with all departments to identify and connect small businesses to all available in-house and external resources that will help support their growth and development.  A.S. Degree in Business, Finance or related area desired, and relevant work experience preferred.  Bilingual (written and verbal) English-Spanish required.  Cover letter required.
