All Real Estate
Markets Are Local
What the
national news media does not tell you is that every
real estate market is different. Your local
REALTORS® are the most knowledgeable about local
market conditions and can give you the true picture
about Berks County and surrounding areas.
Our real estate market is alive and well! NOW is a
good time to Buy.
The real estate
market is still strong and remains a solid long-term
investment. To get the proper perspective on our
real estate market, you have to go right to the
source, and that means talking to a local REALTOR®.
They will tell you that NOW it is an excellent time
to buy because:
1. Interest
rates on fixed-rate mortgages are at low levels
similar to the 1960’s.
2. There is
a great selection of homes to choose from at
many different price points.
3.
Increased inventory improves the odds of finding
the best house at the best price
for your
needs.
4. Homes
are holding their value.
The national gurus say “Berks is the hottest real
estate market because...”
The National
Association of REALTORS® singled out the Reading, PA
area as one of four locations in the country that
are experiencing healthy local price gains. Reading
was also featured on the “Today Show” where Barbara
Corcoran, nationally known author, speaker, and real
estate contributor to NBC, CNBC, and MSNBC, named
Reading/Berks the
“#1”
hottest real estate market
in the country because of its
affordability, great location and undiscovered value.
In addition Forbes Magazine ranked Reading, PA as
one of
ten
“sizzling” housing markets,
stating that “Reading has the lowest urban housing
prices in the country” and is seen as an attractive
location for commuters from as far away as New York.
The Reading-Berks Association of REALTORS® and its
1200 members is the voice of real estate for Reading
and Berks County. For the past 85 years, we have
been helping people achieve their dreams of
homeownership. This is an extremely important goal –
one we will keep striving for in 2008.
