Entrepreneurial Excellence Awards are for entrepreneurs whose companies earn less than $1 million in revenue per year.

Top Businesses rank companies with earning that exceed $1 million per year over the past three years. Watch your mail and future Chamber communications for forms and details.

Kudos to these outstanding newsmakers
Larson Design Group (LDG) announced that several employees recently passed professional licensure exams. LDG engineers Reshmi Lal, Levi Zemak, and Dan Weaver recently became Registered Professional Engineers (PE), which requires four years of professional experience under a licensed professional engineer in addition to passing the PE exam. Coleman Gregory passed the Fundamentals of Engineering Exam to become an Engineer in Training (EIT). Each of these employees also received promotions.

Reshmi Lal, PE, has been promoted to Design Engineer. Reshmi is a member of LDG's Lititz Structural Bridge Group. Levi Zemak, PE, has been promoted to Project Engineer. Levi is a member of LDG's Corning Water/Wastewater group. Dan Weaver, PE, has been promoted to Project Engineer. Dan is a member of the Williamsport Energy Group. Coleman Gregory, EIT, promoted to Designer II in Williamsport's Site Engineering Group.

Several members of LDG staff also passed the CPESC (Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control) exam. Justin Wenner, Designer I in the Energy Department of their Williamsport office. Nick Hannan, EIT, Project Manager in the Energy Department of their Williamsport office. Additionally, Dan Opdahl, EIT, Designer II in the Energy Department of their Williamsport office, passed the CPESCIT (Certified Professional in Erosion and Sediment Control in Training) exam.

The Chamber's Center for Business Excellence Small Business is hosting a FREE update on the 2013 Small Business Tax Changes on Wednesday, March 20 from 8-9 a.m.

Michelle L. Ward, CPA,MT, Manager - Tax Services Group, RKL, Wyomissing Office will present an easy to follow summary of the tax law changes for 2013 for small businesses and the individual owners. Attendees will walk away with a clear understanding of these new law changes and what it means to them.

The Chamber's Center for Business Excellence Small Business is hosting an Human Resources Series geared specifically towards small businesses with employees, but no HR department. The series presenter is S. Whitney Rahman, Esquire, Roland Stock, LLC. S. Whitney Rahman concentrates her practice in labor and employment law matters. She counsels and represents employers in all facets of labor and employment law, including anti-discrimination, anti-harassment, employer best practices, collective bargaining, wage and hour issues, wrongful discharge and Family and Medical Leave Act issues.
