GOLD STAR FOR YOU

Kudos to these outstanding newsmakers

Julia Sophie, RN, MSN, CHPN, and Debra Chaveas, RN, CHPN , of Covenant Home Care are now Certified Hospice and Palliative Nurses (CHPN), as defined by the National Board for Certification of Hospice and Palliative Care Nurses. Certification validates an individual nurse's competence and knowledge in the specialized area of hospice and palliative care. Chaveas and Sophie are Hospice IDT Supervisors for Covenant Home Care.

Penske Truck Leasing and Penske Logistics plan to hire about 3,500 associates within their North American operations throughout 2012. The company expects to hire people for about 150-200 positions in the Berks County area. Most are at the Green Hills Corporate Campus on Route 10.

Met-Ed, a First Energy Company, gained 33 points from last year's study and ranks second (fifth last year) in the east region: midsize segment, according to the J.D. Power and Associates 2012 Electric Utility Business Customer Satisfaction Study. The study is based on interviews with representatives of more than 24,300 U.S. businesses that spend more than $250 monthly on electricity.

Berks Visiting Nurse Association and the Visiting Nurse Association of Pottstown are now utilizing Web Chart, a physician web portal that allows physicians to review and sign orders in a shorter period of time, while providing access to patient information to support appropriate care plan oversight for patients they've referred to our home health care services.
