Legislative/Advocacy
The Chamber has been an effective liaison over the
years between local business, our elected officials
and community leaders. Staff stays attuned to
pending legislation and effectively keeps the
members informed of the status. We host candidate
forums and a state of the community series to
keep our members connected with our government
leaders.
Issues advocacy
is a core component of the Chamber’s government
relations effort. Our proactive agenda
includes the following priorities:
-
Reduce the cost of business
-
Stimulate small/entrepreneurial business
-
Level the international playing field
-
Stimulate innovation and investment
-
Develop a pool of skilled workers
Another important component in our Government
Relations efforts is public education
relative to elections. We provide information on
important issues that come before the various
legislative bodies and how elected officials voted
on those issues. Access is now at your fingertips,
just a click away.

efforts, contact Bernie Riley, Vice President,
